TechGearPilot collects limited information to operate this publication, receive messages and record newsletter subscriptions. You can read our articles without creating an account.

This policy applies to techgearpilot.com and its forms. “We” and “TechGearPilot” refer to the publisher operating this website.

Information you choose to provide

The contact form collects your name, email address, inquiry category and message. We use that information to review and respond to general inquiries, editorial questions, corrections, partnership proposals and privacy requests. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, sensitive medical information or other information unrelated to your inquiry.

The newsletter form collects your email address and a record of your subscription request and consent. It is optional and separate from reading the site or sending a contact message. Submitting a contact inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.

Forms are processed by our Cloudflare backend and stored in a database. A successful submission confirms receipt in that system; it does not promise an immediate response or confirmation email. Email delivery occurs only when an email service has been configured. No newsletter is sent simply because a form has appeared on the page.

Information processed when pages load

Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery and security services. Serving a request necessarily involves technical information such as the IP address, requested URL, time, browser request headers and response information. Cloudflare may process and retain service and security logs under its applicable terms. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for its role and practices.

We have added the Google AdSense script to connect this site to Google for verification and review. Loading the script sends technical information, including your IP address, browser details and the requested page, to Google. Google may use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention when those features are active. Adding the script does not mean that Google has approved the site or that ads are currently being served. While the Google consent message is not yet published, we withhold the AdSense script for visitors identified by our hosting service as being in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, and when a location is unavailable. Administrative access to hosting and form records is limited to operating and maintaining the publication.

Website measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page visits, referral sources and loading performance. This browser-based measurement is separate from server request counts, which can include crawlers and security scans. Cloudflare describes this service as not using analytics cookies, local storage or browser fingerprinting. The hosting provider still handles technical requests as described above. We do not send the wattages you enter in our charging planner to the analytics service, and we do not load the browser analytics on search, contact or unsubscribe pages.

Our analytics loader respects the browser signals Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control when they are enabled. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for the provider's documentation.

Search and browser storage

Site search runs in your browser against a published article index. There is no separate search-query database or search advertising service. If a search term appears in a page URL, that URL can still be part of an ordinary hosting request or your browser history. Avoid entering private information into search.

The Google AdSense integration may use advertising cookies or similar technologies when active. Hosting security services may use necessary technologies when required to protect the site. The Cookie Notice provides more detail and explains browser controls.

Why we use information

To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse.
To receive, organize and answer inquiries.
To investigate editorial corrections and maintain relevant correspondence.
To record newsletter consent and send requested updates when delivery is configured.
To handle privacy requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, rent the subscriber list or use submitted messages for targeted advertising. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about visitors.

Service providers and other disclosures

Cloudflare processes hosting requests and stores form records for the site. An email provider may process the address and message needed to deliver correspondence after that service is configured. We do not grant providers permission to use our contact or newsletter records for their own marketing.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the site or respond to a valid legal process. We do not promise that every government or third-party request will result in disclosure; the scope and legal basis must be considered.

Cloud services may process information in countries other than your own. Available protections and legal requirements can differ by location. We do not claim that every record remains in a particular country.

Retention

Contact submissions expire 12 months after submission and are removed during the next successful daily cleanup cycle, normally within another 24 hours. Operational failures can delay deletion; the retention job is monitored through our hosting platform. Hosting backups may persist under the provider's separate retention practices.

Newsletter addresses and consent records are retained while the subscription remains active. You can ask to unsubscribe or delete the record through Contact Us. Future newsletters must also include a direct opt-out method. A minimal record may be kept when legally necessary to document that a request was honored, but it must not be used to continue marketing.

Hosting security logs and provider backups follow the provider's applicable retention practices. Deletion from an active form database does not mean every temporary backup or independent hosting log disappears at the same instant.

Your choices and requests

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of information you submitted, and you may withdraw newsletter consent. Depending on your location and applicable law, additional rights may apply, including a right to object, restrict certain processing, obtain a portable copy or contact a supervisory authority.

Submit requests through Contact Us and identify the email address used for the original submission. We may need reasonable verification before disclosing or deleting records, and will not ask you to publish sensitive verification material. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and legitimate retention obligations. We do not condition access to our public articles on agreeing to optional marketing.

Children, external links and security

The site is written for a general consumer audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so the record can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

External manufacturer, retailer and source links lead to sites with their own privacy practices. Their forms, purchases and cookies are governed by their policies. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains referral links.

We use HTTPS and restrict administrative access, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Please limit the personal information included in messages. Material changes to our practices will be reflected here with a new effective date, and additional notice or consent will be provided when required.
